LaVigne With over 26 years of executive management experience and over 35 years of business success in the technology industry, Harland LaVigne is a leader with a proven track record. Prior to joining Lancope in 2002, Harland served as chairman, president and CEO of Open Market(OMKT), where he led the development and implementation of a new corporate strategy that improved gross margins and substantially reduced operating expenses. Harland was the primary driver in the negotiation of the sale of Open Market in August of 2001. Before his tenure at Open Market, Harland was co-founder, President and CEO of StarBurst Communications. StarBurst grew steadily before merging with Adero in 2000. Harland’s previous career experience includes considerable success in the growth and management of early-stage companies. As CEO of SoftNet, he facilitated its merger with a publicly traded company in 1994. Under his leadership as President and CEO at ZSoft, he drove the strategic expansion of the company’s product offerings and enhanced operations, moves that led to ZSoft’s successful merger with a publicly-traded company. Earlier, he served as President and COO of Atex Publishing, a division of Eastman Kodak, where he led the organization’s successful transition from a proprietary hardware and software supplier to a server-based application software company. Adam Powers As CTO of Lancope, Adam Powers is a leading innovator in the development of next-generation network behavior anomaly detections solutions. Adam is a significant driver of Lancope's R&D of behavioral algorithms and analysis techniques for the StealthWatch System. With a decade of operational and engineering experience in enterprise IP security technologies, Adam commands considerable expertise in datacenter network design, IP flow analysis techniques, content delivery networks, and enterprise network security planning and management. During his tenure as a Sergeant with the US Marine Corps, Adam managed UNIX and IP networks across 5 operational datacenters and participated in several highly confidential information security initiatives. David Cocchiara As CFO of Lancope, David Cocchiara is responsible for all financial and accounting functions. Prior to Lancope, Cocchiara provided early-stage technology and consumer goods companies with a wide range of financial consulting services, including private equity fundraising, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and finance and accounting staffing. Previously, Cocchiara served as Director of Financial Operations and Controller for Captus Networks and was instrumental in building all finance and accounting functions from the ground up. During his tenure, he successfully raised $22 million in venture funding and provided the overall direction for all finance, legal, banking, leasing and investor relations activities. He was also responsible for all financial communications with the board of directors, outside investors and executive management. Before Captus, he spent six years in the Sacramento office of KPMG LLP, where he served as a manager on a broad spectrum of clients ranging from start-up entities to companies in the Fortune 500. Cocchiara is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Chico. David R. Schwickerath As Vice President of International Sales, David Schwickerath is responsible for driving Lancope’s sales strategy and execution in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, both direct and channel. He brings over 26 years of experience managing large sales organizations with significant revenue targets. Prior to joining Lancope, Schwickerath tripled international revenues as the senior vice president of sales with Starbase Corporation and then with Borland Corporation, when the company was acquired in 2003. Previously, he more than doubled revenues as the senior vice president of worldwide sales and board member with Technology Builders, Inc. (TBI), which Starbase acquired in 2001. Before TBI, David spent 10 years with Computer Associates (CA), where he was responsible for the sales of CA’s products in various management roles in both Atlanta, Georgia and most recently in Dallas, Texas. During his tenure, he was responsible for a $250 million business unit, managing on average 40 people in field sales organizations. Schwickerath holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Iowa State University and an MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Mark Gothard As Vice President of Americas Field Operations for Lancope, Mark is responsible for driving Lancope’s sales efforts and extending the company’s reach within the Americas marketplace. He brings more than 25 years of sales, sales management and channel experience with leading technology companies, including Internet Security Systems (ISS), Documentum, E.piphany, Apple Computer and Digital Equipment. While at ISS, Mark led his sales team in delivering the two largest deals in company history worth over $20 million and brought aboard several new Fortune 1000 accounts. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated consistent leadership and achievement as evidenced by his impressive track record of building sales velocity in early stage companies as well as larger public corporations. With a successful career of achieving dramatic sales growth, Mark has received numerous sales accolades and helped many technology start-ups enter the large enterprise IT marketplace. Mark received a B.A. in Journalism and Public Relations from Central Michigan University. John Balsam As Vice President of Operations, John Balsam brings twenty-five years of experience within a diverse set of industries. Prior to Lancope, John served as Chief Operating Officer of NetCertainty, an Internet-based provider of secure identity hosting and digital signature transaction services. Previously, he implemented and managed a $70+ million manufacturing plant consolidation project for the leading international producer of wines and spirits. . In 1990, he co-founded VisiSoft, a venture-backed developer of network management software, serving as COO/CFO of the company until being acquired by Unisys in 1994. Previously, as Program Manager at Electromagnetic Sciences, he successfully managed two long-term space and military hardware production programs, earning the company a nomination for the SBA Small Business Contractor of the Year. As VP-Engineering and later President of the Systems Group at Servidyne, an engineering consulting company, he directed engineering analysis, design services and facility management software implementations for large clients in the hospitality and retail industry. He also held overall P&L responsibility for the Systems Group, including engineering management and marketing of engineering and design services. While at Raytheon and the Georgia Tech Engineering Experiment Station, he held increasing levels of responsibility as project leader of Systems Analysis and Integration tasks on major engineering and technology development programs. Balsam earned his MBA from Harvard Business School as well as a Masters and BS with distinction in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University, where he was awarded the Detroit Edison Graduate Fellowship. Jason Anderson With over twelve years of experience in the network security industry, Jason Anderson is the Vice President of Engineering for Lancope, the leading provider of network behavior anomaly detection and network intelligence solutions. He is responsible for the Engineering organization that develops the time-to-market releases of the award-winning StealthWatch system. Prior to joining Lancope, he was with ISS, where he served as Engineer, Product Manager and most recently Product Line Manager for its Network Protection Solutions. Anderson holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S in the Management of Technology from Georgia Tech. Corey Elinburg As Director of Product Management for Lancope, Corey Elinburg is responsible for guiding the functional requirements and future direction of StealthWatch. Corey brings to Lancope not only an extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry and a vast array of associated technologies, but also over 11 years of security and network architecture. This combination of depth of understanding and architectural context allows Corey to properly align the functionality of StealthWatch with the needs and anticipate market changes as technology develops. Prior to Lancope, Corey served as a Consulting Systems Engineer at Cisco Systems serving as an architectural resource for some of the largest customers and most complex networks. Before Cisco, Corey served as the Chief Technical Architect for Enterprise Security for Dimension Data, a global consulting company. Jody Ma Kissling Bringing over 10 years of experience with an emphasis on marketing security and emerging technologies, Jody Ma Kissling is the Director of Marketing for Lancope. In her current role, she is responsible for planning and execution of the company’s global marketing and communications strategy. Prior to Lancope, Jody held various communications positions with leading IT organizations, including Technology Builders Inc. (now Borland), SecureWorks and Support Technologies. A prominent member of Georgia’s technology and business community, she served four years on the Board of Directors for Women in Technology. Jody earned an MBA in Marketing from Georgia State University and graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University. |
