What happened to Cisco IOS v13 and v14?
Not sure if anyone else noticed this but when Cisco announced IOS v15.0 last year I was left wondering what happened to version 13.0 and 14.0. Prior to IOS v15.0, the latest release was 12.4. Well it turns out that cultural taboos and lexicon collisions are the cause: "13" in western cultures is considered an "unlucky number". Triskaidekaphobia is "fear of the number of 13". Given the importance of IOS in the operation of the network, it's no wonder that Cisco wanted to avoid having "unlucky number 13" as the label for production code. Marketing with plastic bags and rocks?
So I head out in the rain to the mailbox Saturday afternoon and I find the item shown below sitting in my driveway. Turns out someone at "Ortega Lawn Service" had gone around to all 300+ houses in my neighborhood dropping these small marketing kits in everyone's driveway. If lots of these start turning up in my yard I'll probably start getting a bit annoyed picking them up but this first one definitely caught my attention. Happy New Year from Lancope!
Just getting back from a very long 2009 vacation and wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and good luck in 2010!We've got a lot of work to do this year including the release of version 6.0.
