President and CEO

Bringing over 20 years of experience as a seasoned technology industry veteran spanning the application and security sectors, Mike Potts leads all aspects of Lancope’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations. Prior to Lancope Potts served as President and CEO of AirDefense, where he led the company’s breakthrough wireless security growth of more than 300% in 2 1/2 years and completed the strategic all cash acquisition of the company by Motorola (NYSE:MOT) in September 2008.

Previously, Potts served as CEO of Clickfox, an analytic solutions provider, and as a merger & acquisition advisor to a number of venture backed companies. In 1998 he was appointed President of Jacada (NASDAQ: JCDA), a software integration company. He lead the acquisition strategy of more than 1,000 customers during his 7 year tenure and was a key contributor to Jacada’s initial public offering raising more than $55m on an initial $200m valuation in 1999. Later that year the valuation of the company subsequently surpassed $650m. While serving as President, Computerworld named Jacada one of the top 10 places to work in the Southeast. Prior to Jacada, he spent 7 years in various sales and marketing roles at MSA, a financial application software company, subsequently acquired by Dun and Bradstreet (NYSE: DNB).

Potts has served on the board of directors of the American Israel Chamber of Commerce, the American Electronics Association (AEA) and currently serves as an advisor and/or board member to several emerging technology companies. Most recently he was recognized as the Atlanta Telecom Professional (ATP) of the Year. He completed his BBA in Marketing in 1984 at the University of Georgia.

David Cocchiara, CFO & Head of Corporate Development

CFO & Head of Corporate Development

As CFO & Head of Corporate Development, David Cocchiara is responsible for management of Lancope’s financial, legal and administrative functions as well as overseeing the Company’s corporate development activities, including strategic alliances and partnerships.

Cocchiara has over 15 years experience providing early-stage technology and consumer goods companies with a wide range of financial consulting services, including private equity fundraising, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and finance and accounting staffing.  Prior to joining Lancope, Cocchiara served as Director of Financial Operations and Controller for Captus Networks and was instrumental in building all finance and accounting functions from the ground up. During his tenure, he successfully raised $22 million in venture funding and provided the overall direction for all finance, legal and investor relations activities. He was also responsible for all financial communications with the board of directors, outside investors and executive management.

Earlier in his career, Cocchiara was a manger at KPMG LLP, where he served a broad spectrum of clients ranging from start-up entities to companies in the Fortune 500. Cocchiara is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Chico.

David Scruggs, VP of North American Sales

Bringing over ten years of experience with leading technology companies, David Scruggs is the VP  of North American Sales for Lancope. In his current role, Scruggs is responsible for all Commercial, Government, Channels and Pre Sales Engineering in the United States and Canada. Prior to this role, Scruggs excelled as the Director of U.S. Commercial Sales for Lancope and achieved dramatic sales growth as Lancope's Major Account Manager in the Southeast, focused exclusively on the Fortune 1000.

Previously Scruggs served for 3 years as an Account Manager for Internet Security Systems (ISS). During his tenure, he successfully delivered a broad array of security products and services to the large enterprise market.  Before ISS, he spent 6 years with IBM and an IBM partner.  Scruggs holds a BBA in Management degree from Georgia State University.

Jason Anderson, VP of Engineering & Operations

Vice President of Engineering & Operations
With over twelve years of experience in the network security industry, Jason Anderson is the Vice President of Engineering for Lancope, the leading provider of network behavior anomaly detection and network intelligence solutions. He is responsible for the Engineering organization that develops the time-to-market releases of the award-winning StealthWatch System. Prior to joining Lancope, he was with ISS, where he served as Engineer, Product Manager and most recently Product Line Manager for its Network Protection Solutions. Anderson holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S in the Management of Technology from Georgia Tech.
 

Jody Ma Kissling, Director of Marketing

Bringing over thirteen years of experience with an emphasis on marketing security and emerging technologies, Jody Ma Kissling is the Vice President of Marketing for Lancope. In her current role, she is responsible for planning and execution of the company’s global marketing and communications strategy. Prior to Lancope, Jody held various communications positions with leading IT organizations, including Technology Builders Inc. (now Borland), SecureWorks and Support Technologies. A prominent member of Georgia’s technology and business community, she served four years on the Board of Directors for Women in Technology. Jody earned an MBA in Marketing from Georgia State University and graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University.
 

Tom Albert, VP of Business Development

Vice President of Business Development

As vice president of business development, Tom Albert is focused on the creation of strategic security partnerships for government and enterprise markets. He brings to Lancope over 10 years of sales experience in IT and security.

Prior to joining Lancope, Albert served as senior advisor for cybersecurity at Cisco, responsible for driving the company’s go-to-market strategy, solution focus and sales/marketing approach. His previous roles at Cisco also include security product sales specialist for the Federal market and regional security sales manager. Albert has worked closely with some of the world’s largest organizations to develop and implement successful strategies that help ensure the security of critical information assets.

Before joining Cisco in 2007, Albert served as a channel manager for Oracle, as well as Federal regional sales manager for Symantec, Federal territory manager for Sygate Technologies and territory manager for Rainbow Technologies. His expertise in executive alignment and innovation has resulted in the establishment of brand superiority across vertical and geographic market segments for various organizations. Albert holds a BA in Marketing Communications from Pennsylvania State University.
