Lancope and Bradford Networks Announce Integration between StealthWatch System and NAC Solutions

~Interoperability Automates Policy Enforcement at Network’s Edge with
Pre-Connect Assessment and Post-Connect Monitoring~

Atlanta GA, and Concord, NH March 26, 2008 — Lancope, Inc., the provider of the StealthWatch™ System, the most widely used Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) and response solution, and Bradford Networks, an award-winning provider of comprehensive network access control (NAC) solutions, today jointly announced product interoperability to deliver network visibility both at the core and edge of the enterprise network.

The integration between Lancope’s StealthWatch System and Bradford Networks’ Campus Manager and NAC Director solutions provides pre-connect assessment with post-connect monitoring to automate policy enforcement at the network edge. Now access control actions to prevent malicious or suspicious network behavior can take place at the offender’s point of entry. By combining these two technologies, organizations can continuously assess hosts responsible for disrupting network performance and quickly quarantine offenders before any impact to network availability.

“Our joint solution from Lancope and Bradford Networks has enhanced our overall network stability in a cost-effective manner,” said Ryan Laus, network manager for Central Michigan University. “StealthWatch’s ability to analyze behavior from all parts of the network combines with Bradford Networks’ ability to control wired, wireless, and VPN access to give us unequaled endpoint control and significantly reduces the time spent to resolve policy violations and network incidents.”

During the pre-connect process, Bradford Networks’ NAC solutions grant entry onto the network only after a successful posture assessment by a persistent or dissolvable agent. If the same device exhibits malicious or suspicious activity once connected, Lancope’s StealthWatch quickly identifies the behavior and sends alarm notification to Bradford Networks’ NAC solutions. Alarms are mapped to specific network access control actions, which can be as simple as sending an email to an administrator or as drastic as moving the offender’s switch port to an isolation VLAN.

“Customers demand the combination of detecting threats to the network and then automating the remediation and this interoperability between top technologies elegantly delivers this,” said Mike Gadoury, Bradford Networks founder and CEO

“As the standard for network access security and integrity continue to rises, enterprises need to quickly identify and resolve policy violations and prevent malicious threats without overburdening IT,” said Harland LaVigne, president and CEO of Lancope. “StealthWatch combines powerful network performance monitoring with behavior-based anomaly detection to cost-effectively ensure network security and availability. Lancope is working with Bradford Networks to extend the value of existing network infrastructure, while simultaneously enhancing visibility and security from the network core to the edge.”
