Lancope® PRESS RELEASE
Lancope Partners with ENIRA to Broaden Intelligent Network Response
ATLANTA and RESTON, Va. (April 24, 2006) - Lancope, Inc., the pioneer and provider of StealthWatch, the most widely used Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) and Response solution, today announced a strategic partnership with ENIRA Technologies, the intelligent network solutions company, to integrate Lancope’s award-winning StealthWatch System with ENIRA’s Intelligent Network Services Platform (INSP). Similar to Lancope’s current OPSEC integration with Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), Lancope will add ENIRA’s award-winning Network Response Module (NRM) from the INSP appliance, significantly reducing the time required to respond to emerging threats by safely, efficiently and automatically isolating problem hosts and quarantining infected nodes.
StealthWatch and NRM work together to block and prohibit network access to suspicious internal or external hosts. StealthWatch’s innovative zone-based architecture offers flexible configuration of responses on a per alarm basis within each Virtual Security Zone to deliver adaptable mitigation for network and security administrators. The ENIRA NRM allows network managers to assign granular policies and privileges, and protect critical systems from accidental blocking. This combination of Lancope’s flow-based anomaly detection with ENIRA’s intelligent network response provides detailed network visibility and automates slow, error-prone and risky mitigation tasks, providing rapid response while leveraging an organization’s existing network infrastructure.
"This is a powerful combination," said Richard Bejtlich, President and CEO of TaoSecurity LLC and author of The Tao of Network Security Monitoring. "Lancope’s traffic inspection product works with existing network infrastructure to detect intrusions, malware and rogue insiders. ENIRA’s network response contains incidents by intelligently and automatically applying isolation policies. Together, they simplify and enhance the response aspect of the security process, reducing a company’s exposure window while saving time and money."
"ENIRA delivers a sophisticated network services platform that empowers administrators to stay in control of an increasingly complex network infrastructure," said Harland LaVigne, president and CEO of Lancope. "Its laser focus on developing a unique and dedicated response system as part of a holistic network management architecture matches well with Lancope’s commitment to delivering cost-effective, scalable network behavior analysis solutions for enterprises."
"Teaming with Lancope brings a truly innovative and integrated network security solution to enterprises facing an increasing barrage of attacks," said Chris Key, founder and CTO of ENIRA. "Lancope and ENIRA address a fundamental need to protect the internal network by shrinking the timeline from threat detection to resolution, while leveraging the existing network infrastructure. Together we are providing the highest levels of network access control and internal enterprise security available.
Availability
Interoperability with ENIRA NRM will be available in StealthWatch System 5.5, which will be generally available in June 2006. This built-in response will be supported across the StealthWatch System. Lancope customers who are interested in this unique capability should contact their local sales representative or email sales@lancope.com for more information.
About StealthWatch System
The StealthWatch System, which includes StealthWatch NC for native flow capture, StealthWatch Xe for NetFlow, StealthWatch Xe for sFlow and StealthWatch Management Console, is the leading Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) and Response solution that defends internal networks against zero-day attacks, internal misuse and unnecessary network exposures. StealthWatch continuously monitors network behavior, detects anomalies, and isolates known and unknown threats. Expanding beyond the capabilities of traditional network security products, StealthWatch collects, categorizes and analyzes network traffic to create comprehensive security intelligence at both network and host levels. Providing a cost-effective, single point of reference for optimizing security and network operations, StealthWatch enables organizations to improve the network health and security posture of their networks.
