Lancope® PRESS RELEASE
Lancope’s StealthWatch Supports NetFlow Version 9 and Integrates with Cisco Guard for Greater Protection Against DDoS Attacks
~Leading Network Behavior Analysis System Leverages Network Infrastructure to Secure Enterprises and Provide Network Visibility~
Atlanta, June 13, 2007—Lancope, Inc., the provider of the StealthWatch™ System, the most widely used Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) and response solution, today announced that StealthWatch System 5.6 now offers support for NetFlow version 9 and integrates with Cisco Guard distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation appliances to provide unparalleled network protection and ensure continuous network availability for uninterrupted business operations. Unifying flow-based anomaly detection and network performance monitoring for end-to-end visibility, StealthWatch now supports additional Cisco technologies to preemptively identify and troubleshoot worm propagation, traffic bottlenecks and points of network slowdown to improve security, availability and performance across the enterprise.
This recent integration combines StealthWatch’s rapid response with surgical precision capability with Cisco Guard DDoS protection to deliver a powerful enterprise-class solution. Upon detecting and alerting to the presence of DDoS attacks and other potential threats, StealthWatch directs Cisco Guard to block malicious traffic in real time, without affecting the flow of legitimate, mission-critical transactions. Through this integration, business operations of targeted organizations continue running, even while under attack, ensuring that critical corporate assets are always protected. A single, unified system for security and network operations, StealthWatch provides detailed views of anomalies and network utilization for security analysts, network engineers and network planners. With its flow-based approach, StealthWatch works with and further extends the value of existing Cisco network infrastructure by collecting raw and unprocessed NetFlow data from Cisco routers and switches. Now with complete support for NetFlow versions 1, 5, 7 and 9, StealthWatch processes, analyzes and converts raw NetFlow data into actionable information on both network activity and potential security threats.
“Lancope recognizes that DDoS attacks continue to bypass traditional signature-based technologies and cost enterprise billions of dollars per year in lost revenue. By tightly coupling our innovative network behavior analysis solution with industry leading Cisco Guard, we are extending enterprise investments in IT architecture to enhance network operations and security,” said Harland LaVigne, president and CEO of Lancope.
"As a member of the Cisco Technology Developer Program, Lancope remains committed to delivering interoperable, NetFlow-enabled solutions that deliver network and security optimization, without adding cost or complexity to the IT environment.”
