Lancope Promotes Adam Powers to Chief Technology Officer

Continues to Showcase Company Growth and Market Leadership

Atlanta, July 25, 2006 - Lancope, Inc., the provider of StealthWatch, the most widely used network behavior analysis (NBA) and response system, today named Adam Powers Chief Technology Officer. Powers was formerly Director of Technology for Lancope. In his new role, Powers will be responsible for leading the development of the StealthWatch System, the first flow-based solution to combine behavior-based anomaly detection and network performance monitoring.

Powers brings more than a decade of operational and engineering experience in enterprise IP security technologies. He is a significant driver of Lancope’s Research & Development of behavioral algorithms and analysis techniques for the StealthWatch System. Powers commands considerable expertise in datacenter network design, IP flow analysis techniques involving NetFlow and sFlow, and enterprise network security planning and management.  During his tenure as a sergeant with the US Marine Corps, Powers managed UNIX and IP networks across five operational datacenters and participated in several highly confidential information security initiatives. 

A recognized network operations and security expert and prolific author of technical documents, Powers has spoken at numerous industry events, including RSA and N+I conferences as well as ISSA Chapter meetings throughout the country.  He was also selected to participate on Network World’s Security Tour, which featured a panel of distinguished industry thought-leaders.  Most recently Powers was a featured presenter at RSA 2006 and CSI's NetSec 2005.
