Bringing over 20 years of experience as a seasoned technology industry veteran spanning the application and security sectors, Mike Potts leads all aspects of Lancope’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations. Prior to joining Lancope, he served as President and CEO of AirDefense, where he led the company’s breakthrough wireless security growth of more than 300% in 2 1/2 years and completed the strategic, all-cash acquisition of the company by Motorola in September 2008. While at AirDefense, Potts was recognized as the Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year. Potts’ previous roles include CEO of ClickFox, President of Jacada, and various sales and marketing roles at MSA, which was subsequently acquired by Dun & Bradstreet. Potts completed his BBA in Marketing in 1984 at the University of Georgia.
Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer
As COO and CFO, David Cocchiara is responsible for the management of Lancope’s financial and operational functions, as well as serving as the head of business development overseeing strategic alliances and partnerships. Throughout his tenure, he has helped drive key initiatives across marketing, sales, business development and engineering, and was part of the executive team that led Lancope from its early start-up stage to achieving profitability as a pioneering, high-growth network visibility company. Cocchiara has over 15 years of experience providing early-stage technology and consumer goods companies with a wide range of financial consulting services. Prior to joining Lancope, he served as controller and director of financial operations for Captus Networks, and as a manager at KPMG LLP. Cocchiara is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Chico.
Tim (TK) Keanini
Chief Technology Officer
TK Keanini brings nearly 25 years of network and security experience to the CTO role. He is responsible for leading Lancope’s evolution toward integrating security solutions with private and public cloud-based computing platforms. TK is also responsible for developing the blueprint and solution that will help Lancope’s customers securely benefit from the promise of software-defined networking (SDN). Prior to joining Lancope, Keanini served as CTO for nCircle, driving product innovation that defined the vulnerability management and configuration compliance market. Before joining nCircle, he served as Vice President of Network Services for Morgan Stanley Online, where he built and secured a highly available online trading system. Previously, Keanini was a systems engineer at Cisco, advising top financial institutions on the design and architecture of their data networking infrastructure. Keanini is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
As VP general counsel and corporate secretary, Jim Ulam brings over 22 years of legal experience to Lancope, with expertise in many facets of corporate law and government contracting. Prior to joining Lancope, he served as general counsel with electronics power protection company, Innovolt. Previously, he acted as general counsel and secretary for SecureWorks, overseeing the acquisition of the company by Dell, and also served as general counsel and secretary for VeriSign. Earlier roles include deputy general counsel for Network Solutions and contract attorney for SAIC. Ulam earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and attended law school at the Mississippi College School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he was a contracting officer for the FBI, and worked in contracts administration for technology provider, Unisys.
Vice President of North American Sales
Bringing over ten years of experience with leading technology companies, David Scruggs is the VP of North American Sales for Lancope. In his current role, Scruggs is responsible for all Commercial, Government, Channels and Pre Sales Engineering in the United States and Canada. Prior to this role, Scruggs excelled as the Director of U.S. Commercial Sales for Lancope and achieved dramatic sales growth as Lancope's Major Account Manager in the Southeast, focused exclusively on the Fortune 1000. Previously Scruggs served for 3 years as an Account Manager for Internet Security Systems (ISS). During his tenure, he successfully delivered a broad array of security products and services to the large enterprise market. Before ISS, he spent 6 years with IBM and an IBM partner. Scruggs holds a BBA in Management degree from Georgia State University.
Vice President of Federal Markets
John Sellers brings over 20 years of experience selling IT solutions to federal governments across the globe. As the Vice President of Federal Markets, he is responsible for all selling activities to the U.S. federal government. Prior to joining Lancope, he initiated the federal practice at security start-up CrowdStrike. Preceding CrowdStrike, he was the Senior Director of Federal Sales at Palo Alto Networks where his team achieved tremendous growth. Additionally, he spent 11 years on Blue Coat Systems’ federal team as the Senior Director of Federal Sales. Sellers holds a B.A. in finance with a minor in economics from James Madison University.
Vice President of Engineering
As vice president of engineering, Phillip McDonald brings over 25 years of timely, high-quality software engineering and development expertise to Lancope. Most recently, he served as the vice president of technology for the $8.3 billion dollar technology solutions division at McKesson. During his 10 years at McKesson, he successfully implemented Agile-based development organizations that delivered critical health information systems to over 50 percent of U.S. hospitals and 96 percent of the country’s private health plans. Prior to joining McKesson, McDonald was development manager for telecommunications provider Z-Tel Communications. He also served in various engineering roles at Marsh & McLennan Companies, and as a senior software engineer for IBM Lotus software for over 10 years. McDonald is a Computer Science graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and also earned his MBA at Georgia State University.
Vice President of Operations
With over fifteen years of experience in the network security industry, Jason Anderson is the Vice President of Operations for Lancope, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business. As VP of Operations, Anderson manages Customer Support, IT, Ordering, Fulfillment and Facilities, and is Lancope's Export Compliance Officer. Joining Lancope in 2003, Anderson served as Vice President of Engineering before taking on responsibility for Operations. Prior to joining Lancope, he was with Internet Security Systems (ISS), where he served as Engineer, Product Manager and Product Line Manager for its Network Protection Solutions. Anderson holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Management of Technology from Georgia Tech.
Jody Ma Kissling
Vice President of Marketing
Bringing over thirteen years of experience with an emphasis on marketing security and emerging technologies, Jody Ma Kissling is the Vice President of Marketing for Lancope. In her current role, she is responsible for planning and execution of the company’s global marketing and communications strategy. Prior to Lancope, Jody held various communications positions with leading IT organizations, including Technology Builders Inc. (now Borland), SecureWorks and Support Technologies. A prominent member of Georgia’s technology and business community, she served four years on the Board of Directors for Women in Technology. Jody earned an MBA in Marketing from Georgia State University and graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University.
Vice President of Business Development
As vice president of business development, Tom Albert is focused on the creation of strategic security partnerships for government and enterprise markets. He brings over 10 years of sales experience in IT and security. Prior to joining Lancope, Albert served as senior advisor for cybersecurity at Cisco, responsible for driving the company’s go-to-market strategy, solution focus and sales/marketing approach. His previous roles at Cisco also include security product sales specialist for the Federal market and regional security sales manager. Before joining Cisco in 2007, Albert served as a channel manager for Oracle, as well as Federal regional sales manager for Symantec, Federal territory manager for Sygate Technologies and territory manager for Rainbow Technologies. Albert holds a BA in Marketing Communications from Pennsylvania State University.
Vice President of Systems Engineering
As vice president of systems engineering, Joe Buchanan brings to Lancope over 14 years of technology experience with a focus on analyzing complex networks and designing an effective security and monitoring solution. He is responsible for driving technical pre-sales, solution architecture and implementation to ensure customer satisfaction for Fortune 1000 companies. Buchanan joined Lancope in 2004, most recently serving as director of systems engineering. Prior to joining Lancope, he worked in a senior systems support role with Mirant, a Fortune 500 energy company that was previously a division of Southern Company. Preceding Mirant, Buchanan spent seven years in the United States Air Force. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, as well as numerous technical certifications.
Vice President of Product Management
As vice president of product management, Kerry Armistead brings over 10 years of experience delivering high-value products in the information technology and security markets. In his current role, he is responsible for shaping the company's product strategy, defining the roadmap for future product development and ensuring Lancope’s products provide high-value solutions to its customers. Armistead’s previous experience includes five years as a senior product manager at IBM Internet Security Systems where he worked to set strategic direction and conceptualize product roadmaps. Just before joining Lancope, Armistead served as the director of product management and marketing for cloud-based IT services provider Cbeyond, developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for several product lines including security services. Previously, he was director of product management at McKesson Provider Technologies, delivering IT solutions to the healthcare industry. Prior to McKesson, he held product management leadership roles for Kaneva, the social entertainment company, and Global Knowledge, a business and IT training company. Armistead holds a B.S. in Marketing from Clemson University.
Vice President of Customer Success
As the vice president of Customer Success, Ken is responsible for the overall success of Lancope’s customers, driving the strategy for delivering customer support worldwide, customer and partner training and Professional Services. Prior to joining Lancope, Ken was the vice president of support services research for TSIA, where he led the organization’s efforts in industry benchmarking, research, and thought leadership in the areas of support services.
O’Reilly has been involved in the technology support industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining TSIA, he served with IBM as a worldwide customer support executive for the security division. Previous to IBM, he served in the same capacity for Internet Security Systems (ISS). He also was previously a global customer support executive at JDA, vice president of engineering and worldwide customer support at Novient, an engineering and global customer support executive at Indus International, and worldwide customer support executive with Dunn & Bradstreet Software.
Vice President of Worldwide Channels
As the vice president of worldwide channels, Dan Sibille is charged with developing and leading Lancope’s channel sales and marketing strategy, global partner program and strategic relationships with a full spectrum of partners to drive partner recruitment, market awareness and revenue growth. He brings over 20 years of experience to his role, previously driving channel sales and marketing for networking, security and video collaboration leaders including 3Com, Extreme Networks, WatchGuard Technologies, Internet Security Systems, LifeSize Communications and Polycom. Throughout his career, Sibille has successfully developed and revitalized many channel programs, dramatically accelerating partner recruitment and pipeline growth, while consistently increasing channel-initiated revenues. Several of his programs have been awarded the coveted CRN 5-Star Partner Program rating. Sibille holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Auburn University.
Managing Director, EMEA & International
Tariq Ahmed is the Managing Director of EMEA and International for Lancope. Based in London, he brings to the company more than 25 years of technology sales experience and 16 years in the information security sector. Previously, he spent six years at Cisco Systems, serving in various roles including Security Sales Business Development Manager for both Northern Europe and Emerging Markets theaters. He also spent eight years at Check Point as the sales director for Northern Europe, turning his territory into the company’s most profitable region and establishing Check Point’s very first channel program. Most recently, Tariq served as EMEA Channel Sales Managing Director for the automated network control provider, Infoblox.
