D.     Disclosures Under Law. Lancope reserves the right to use or disclose information provided if required by law or if Lancope reasonably believes that use or disclosure is necessary to protect Lancope's rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

4.      Types of Information Collected and Used. Lancope may collect and use the following types of information in connection with a User’s use of the Website (“User Information”).

A.     Non-Personal Information” – Information, such as company annual revenues, number of employees, industry, or corporate network information that you may provide to Lancope in connection with your access or use of the Website that does not qualify as “Personal Information” (as defined below).

B.     "Personal Information" – Certain personally identifiable information, such as your name, employer’s name, address, phone number, or email address, that you may provide to Lancope in connection with your access or use of the Website.

C.     Usage Information” - Information related to a User’s use of the Website that may be collected during the course of such use by Lancope using common information gathering tools, such as cookies and web beacons.  Usage Information typically includes information that is readily available from most web browsers used to access the Website, such as the browser type, browser language, your Internet Protocol ("IP") address, and any actions you take on the Website, such as the web pages viewed and the links clicked.

5.      Collection Methods. Lancope uses common information-gathering tools, such as cookies and web beacons, to collect various information as Users navigate the Website. Below is a list describing methods by which Lancope may collect and use User Information.

A.     Web Beacons. Lancope uses web beacons, alone or in conjunction with cookies, to collect Usage Information regarding Users’ interaction with emails they receive from Lancope. A web beacon is an electronic object embedded in a web page or email that can recognize certain types of information on a User’s computer, such as the time and date of a page viewed, and a description of where the web beacon is placed. For example, web beacons that Lancope places in outbound marketing emails will notify Lancope when the recipients open an email or navigate to the Website by clicking a link located within in the email. Lancope typically uses web beacons to assist operation of the Website and improve Lancope's email communications. Users may be able to disable web beacons in email messages by not downloading external objects contained in the message they receive (this feature varies depending on the email software used on the User’s personal computer). However, doing this may not always disable a web beacon or other automatic data collection tools in the email message due to specific email software capabilities. For more information about this, please refer to the information provided by your email software or service provider.

B.     IP Addresses. Lancope collects User IP addresses to track and aggregate User Information. For example, Lancope uses IP addresses to identify the geographic regions from which Users access and use the Website. Lancope uses IP addresses in part to assist with ensuring compliance with security and legal requirements, and to identify Website access or use that may otherwise violate the Website’s terms of use.

C.     Cookies. Lancope uses cookies to help make interactions with the Website easy and meaningful for Users.  When a User visits the Website, Lancope's servers send a cookie to the User’s browser.  Standing alone, cookies do not personally identify a User; rather they identify and allow the Website to recognize the User’s web browser.  Unless a User elects to identify him- or herself to Lancope, such as by responding to a promotional offer or completing and submitting a form located on the Website (such as "Contact Us"), the User Information will not enable Lancope to identify the User personally. Lancope uses session cookies, persistent cookies, and flash cookies.  Session cookies exist solely during the web browsing session in which they are created.  Most browsers delete session cookies when the browser is closed or when the computer is turned off.  Persistent cookies remain in the web browser’s files after the browser is closed or the computer turned off.  Flash cookies (also known as “local shared objects”) store more and different types of information, in a different method, than do standard browser cookies. Users should consult their web browser’s documentation to learn how the web browser can be configured to restrict the Website’s ability to use cookies. Please note that restricting a web browser's ability to accept Website cookies will prevent the Website from providing the User with full access and functionality. Below is a summary of how Lancope uses different types of cookies.

i.        Required Cookies. Cookies necessary for Users to access and use certain sections of the Website, such as portals, communities, and other such sections that are available only to Users who have registered, password-protected accounts on the Website. Lancope uses cookies containing Personal Information to uniquely identify Users who have elected, in the course of accessing or using the Website, to identify themselves to Lancope. Each time a registered User logs into the Website, a cookie containing Personal Information unique to the User is placed on the User’s browser. Such cookies allow Lancope to identify Users when you are logged-in to the Website and to process the User’s Website transactions and requests.

ii.      Performance Cookies. Cookies that collect information about how Users access and Use the Website, including which webpages Users visit most often, and whether Users receive error messages from certain webpages. Performance Cookies do not collect Personal Information for the purpose of identifying individual Users. Performance Cookies provide only Non-Personal Information, which Lancope uses solely to improve the Website’s content and performance. From time to time, Lancope may engage third parties to track and analyze certain User Information. Lancope may also utilize Flash cookies for these purposes.

iii.    Functionality Cookies. Cookies that store information entered or actions taken by a User (such as username, language, or geographic region) that enable the Website to provide access and features that are tailored to that specific User. Functionality Cookies also enable registered Users to optimize their use when logged-in to the Website. Functionality Cookies can also be used to store display preferences a User has set, such as text size, font, local language, or other customizable Website features. Lancope may also use flash cookies to store User preferences or settings, or to display content based upon the User’s access and use of the Website.

iv.    Targeting or Advertising Cookies. From time to time, Lancope may engage third-party vendors to track and analyze User Information. Lancope sometimes uses cookies delivered by third parties to track the performance of Lancope advertisements. For example, these cookies remember which browsers have visited the Website. User Information provided to third-party vendors does not include Personal Information, but after receiving it from such third-party vendors, Lancope may re-associate the User Information with Personal Information. Lancope also contracts with third-party advertising networks that collect IP addresses and other User Information from web beacons on the Website, from emails, and third-party web sites. Advertising networks may follow a User’s online activities over time by collecting User Information through automated means, including through the use of cookies. Advertising networks may use this User Information to provide a User with advertisements about products and services tailored to the User’s specific interests. Users may see such advertisements while accessing or using other third-party web sites. This process helps Lancope manage and track the effectiveness of its marketing efforts. Third parties, with whom Lancope contracts to provide certain Website features or to display advertising based upon User Information, may use flash cookies to collect and store information.

6.      International Transfer of Information. Lancope may transfer User Information to other Lancope-owned business entities in the United States and worldwide. By accessing the Website, registering for an account or service, or otherwise providing Lancope with User Information, Users consent to this transfer of their User Information throughout the global Lancope network of entities.

7.      Posted Content. The Website may contain sections, such as bulletin boards, blogs, or chat rooms, in which Users can post information that can be viewed by the public or other Users. Lancope is not responsible for any Personal Information that you post to any such section of the Website.

8.      User Management. Users have options for controlling how Lancope is allowed to use certain information. Users may manage their receipt of marketing and non-transactional communications by clicking the "unsubscribe" link located on the bottom of Lancope emails. Additionally, a User may email communication preferences to marketing@lancope.com. Registered Users cannot opt out of receiving transactional emails related to their active Website accounts. If at any time a User wishes to revise any information Lancope maintains about the User, or otherwise change the use to which such information can be put, the User should contact Lancope at: privacy@lancope.com.

9.      Data Security. Lancope employs security measures to prevent unauthorized access to information Lancope collects online. The Website supports Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology using both server authentication and data encryption. The Website also employs an advanced security method based on dynamic data and encoded session identifications, and is hosted in a secure server environment that uses firewalls and other security technologies.

10.  Changes to this Privacy Statement. Lancope reserves the right to revise this Privacy Statement or any part of it from time to time. Please review this Privacy Statement periodically as posted on the Website for any changes.

11.  Contacting Lancope. Questions regarding this Privacy Statement should be directed to Lancope by sending an email to: privacy@lancope.com.
